Child dies after being hit by pickup truck in Canon City
CANON CITY, Colo. (KRDO) -- A child is dead after being hit by a pickup truck Wednesday morning on a residential street in Canon City.
The Fremont County Sheriff's Office says deputies were called to the Canon City Fire Station #1 for a report of a traffic accident at around 11 a.m.
Deputies learned that the driver of the pickup truck hit the child in the 1000 block of Natalie Street and then took the child to the fire station.
The child was taken to the hospital but later died from their injuries. The child's identity hasn't been released yet, and we don't know the child's age or gender.
The crash is still being investigated by the sheriff's office and Colorado State Patrol. No charges have been filed as of this time.
