COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- When a police officer stumbled upon a suspicious vehicle that turned out to be stolen, the driver turned a Colorado Springs parking lot into a demolition derby so they could escape.

According to Colorado Springs police, the officer found the stolen vehicle in a lot near 3000 N. Chestnut Street shortly after 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. When the officer went up to talk to the people inside, the driver backed the car into the police cruiser and then took off.
