Woman hit by own truck while trying to move debris on Powers Boulevard
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- A woman was seriously injured Monday night after a pickup truck slammed into her truck while she was in front of it moving boxes that had spilled onto Powers Boulevard.
Colorado Springs police say the crash happened at about 7:11 p.m. on the bridge over Woodmen Road. Officers say the woman was driving behind a vehicle when boxes fell off the back into southbound lanes of traffic.
She got out of her own truck to move the boxes out of the roadway, but another pickup truck slammed into the back of her truck, which caused it to hit her, according to police. The woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
It's not clear if the driver of the pickup truck was detained or cited. Police say speed and impairment aren't considered factors at this time.
