Police Arrest Menacing Suspect

A woman is under arrest after an incident early Friday morning at "Red's Alibi" bar, located on the 11-hundred block of S. Prairie Avenue. Police were called there at approximately 1:45 a.m. following a report of menacing with a firearm.

During the investigation, police learned 60-year-old Phyllis Cabello was having a problem with a male customer at the lounge. She reportedly drew a handgun and began pointing it at other customers inside. People scrambled and hid behind the bar, but Cabello left without firing any rounds.

En route to the call, officers learned that the suspect had left the scene, traveling southbound in a red Ford Mustang. The officers spotted the car near the intersection of Prairie Avenue and Crawford Street and pulled over Cabello. Officers say they immediately noticed the smell of alcohol on her breath and spotted a loaded semi-automatic handgun in her possession. She was arrested on the charges of driving under the influence and four counts of felony menacing. Cabello was later booked into the Pueblo County Detention Center.
