Colorado Springs City Council approves new CC Hockey arena
It's officially happening: Colorado College got the OK from city leaders to build its new Robson Arena, and the CC Tigers hockey team will soon be playing its games on campus.
City council unanimously approved the project Tuesday, giving the go-ahead to CC to build its 3,400-seat arena. It'll be built on the west side of N. Nevada Ave., between Dale and Cache La Poudre streets.
New renderings of the arena were also released Tuesday, and they show restaurant options adjacent to the arena. The total cost of the project is estimated at about $50 million.

Currently, the Tigers play their home hockey games at the Broadmoor World Arena in south Colorado Springs, but the school says it would better serve its student-athletes by having facilities on campus.
The arena is set to open for the 2021-2022 hockey season.
