Switchbacks FC break ground on Downtown Stadium

Saturday at 4:30p.m., the Colorado Springs club broke ground on a new stadium and unveiled their new blue and black logo.

The $35 million Downtown Stadium, located southwest of Cimarron and Sahwatch streets, will be a multiuse facility. At 8,000-seats, the outdoor venue will accomodate a variety of sporting and entertainment events.

According to the club, the Sitchbacks FC are part of a $2.3 billion downtown redevelopment project, which will also include the new US Olympic and Paralympic Museum.

The Switchbacks will begin play in the Downtown Stadium in the Spring of 2021.
