Monarch Mountain thankful to fully open for Thanksgiving
Plenty of people came out to Monarch Mountain to burn off some extra calories before Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday.
Monarch was scheduled to open on Thanksgiving Day, but thanks to the precipitation much of Southern Colorado received this week, they were able to open a day early.
But that didn't stop people from coming in droves to celebrate the holiday by skiing one of their favorite local mountains.
The mountain saw 22 inches of fresh snow just this past week, and is expected to get more into the weekend.
You can see a list of snow totals at Colorado ski areas on our Ski Report page. Monarch Mountain is a sponsor of the KRDO ski report.
