Thousands without power in Otero County in subfreezing temperatures
Some 6,800 customers in Otero County near Rocky Ford are without power as of approximately 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Julie Rodriguez with Black Hills Energy says the affected areas are Fowler, Manzanola, Rocky Ford, La Junta and Ordway. Check the Black Hills Energy electrical outage map here for a live look at the affected areas.
There is no known cause of the outage yet.
Rodriguez tells us crews are working to restore power and patrolling the line, but there is no estimated time of return to power at this time.
