Bicyclist seriously injured in auto collision in Pueblo

Pueblo police are investigating an overnight collision involving a bicycle and a car that sent the cyclist to a hospital with serious injuries.

The collision occurred at the off-ramp from I-25 to 29th Street Friday night, according to the Pueblo Police Department.

The ramp was closed during the on-scene investigation but has reopened as of Saturday morning. Police say they don’t suspect drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.

The bicyclist has been transported to a hospital in Colorado Springs for further treatment.

  1. 9 times out of 10 the bicyclist caused the accident. They rarely if ever follow all traffic laws, ride where they should, and almost never do the speed limit or under.

The real sad perspective is that these bicyclists then do something to get themselves killed and they put that heavy burden upon someone that was traditionally lawfully obeying the traffic laws. Bicyclists should only ride bikes on safe areas like at the bicycle arena or in national forest or on hiking trails.

Cars and bicycles don’t mix and the car will win every time. Instead of being an entitled excrement, perhaps you should consider your family and the family of the person that may have killed you when you were not following the Model Traffic code, be smart ride where there isn’t cars, you will live longer.
