Monument firefighters host free pumpkin giveaway, food drive
Firefighters from the Tri-Lakes Monument Fire Protection District held their third annual pumpkin giveaway and festival Saturday to help collect donations for families in need.
Over 800 pumpkins were donated by Platinum Group Real Estate and Mutual Security Mortgage to giveaway for free to the community.
Pumpkin-pickers are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items or winter clothing to donate, but it’s not a requirement.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Clock Tower at Monument Market on Jackson Creek Parkway. Aside from pumpkins, there will also be food trucks and candy for the little kids and big kids alike.
