Suspect arrested after shooting near Memorial Park

Colorado Springs police arrested a suspect who they say is responsible for shooting another man last week near Memorial Park.

The shooting happened last Tuesday at the corner of 900 Prospect Lake Drive. Emergency medical crews found the victim and took him to a hospital, where he was treated.

Monday, police arrested 49-year-old Demetrius Howard for first-degree assault.

Howard was booked into the El Paso County jail. The shooting is still under investigation.
