Shooting near Memorial Park in Colorado Springs under investigation

Colorado Springs police are investigating a shooting that left at least one person injured Tuesday afternoon near Memorial Park.

The shooting happened at about 4 p.m. on Prospect Lake Drive, near the southeast side of the lake, according to first responders. The victim was reportedly conscious and breathing on his own as of 4:15 p.m.

According to emergency dispatch traffic, a suspect is described as a black male. He fled on foot south toward the park, but was last seen running through an alleyway. A white Pontiac was left at the scene.
