Fire burning in Larimer County, voluntary evacuations advised

MGN

The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office is advising residents to voluntarily evacuate the Glacier View area as the McNay fire grows to 150 acres.

The fire is burning near mile marker ten of W County Road 74E. The road is closed between Boy Scout Ranch Road and CR37.

Officials say the blaze began as a car fire that then spread to the surrounding vegetation.

Residents and business occupants in the area are advised to evacuate if they are concerned about their safety or have health conditions that might be aggravated by the smoke. People are also encouraged move livestock and pets out of the area if possible.

Residents are also advised to prepare for the possibility of mandatory evacuations, according to the Larimer Emergency Telephone Authority.
