Police searching for thief who stole urn from car at Great Wolf Lodge

Police are on the hunt for a suspect, after a woman says an urn full of her daughter’s ashes was stolen from her car parked at the Great Wolf Lodge in Colorado Springs.

Noelle Burling says her sister-in-law, Carin Middleton, made a pit-stop in the Springs this week, on her way home to Texas after spending a couple months in Canada.

Carin’s daughter, Ruth, passed away last spring, around 26 weeks into her pregnancy, due to a rare disease that caused most of her bones to break.

Carin then had her daughter cremated, and had her ashes placed into a small, silver, heart-shaped urn. Noelle says Carin takes Ruth along when she goes away on long trips.

Carin says that urn — along with other valuables including her grandmother’s wedding rings and $4,000 cash — was snatched from her car sometime between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

Anyone with information should call Colorado Springs Police.
