08/28/19 Forecast Discussion

Tonight: Staying dry and mostly clear in Central/SE Colorado this evening. Winds across the eastern plains were breezy today with gusts to about 30mph, expect those winds to die off after 7pm. Red Flag warnings in Park/Chaffee Counties expires at 8pm. Overnight low temperatures to about 56 degrees in Colorado Springs, and low 60’s for locations on HWY 50.

Thursday: By far the warmest day of the week for Colorado as Colorado Springs and Pueblo approach record high temperatures in the mid to high 90’s. Increasing cloud coverage by late morning and early afternoon. After 2pm a few isolated showers will develop over the higher elevations then move towards the I-25 corridor bringing rain chances to valley locations. Overall severity and coverage of these storms will be low. Rain chances clear out overnight, staying partly cloudy.

Friday: This will be our best chance for a few severe afternoon thunderstorms. Morning sunshine will help to aid afternoon thunderstorm growth through surface heating.
