Springs mother pleads guilty after trying to kill herself, 2 kids
A Colorado Springs woman pleaded guilty to a felony charge Monday after trying to kill herself and her two children earlier this summer.
In late July, Colorado Springs police got information that 29-year-old Jessica Price had made credible threats to kill herself and two young kids.
Police first checked Price’s home, but no one was home. A message was then sent out throughout the city for all units to be on the lookout for Price’s car.
Shortly after the alert, an officer found Price along with her kids inside the car at Palmer Park. The heat was turned on inside the car and the windows were rolled up, according to a police report.
Price was arrested and the children were taken into protective custody.
Monday, the 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office said Price pled guilty to child abuse-negligently causing serious bodily injury, which is a class-four felony. Price’s sentencing hearing is tentatively set for Nov. 4.
