Shawnee Peak Fire burning in northeastern Park County

A wildfire named the Shawnee Peak Fire was reported at 3:15 p.m. Monday in Park County near Shawnee Peak, about six miles southwest of Bailey, according to the U.S. Forest Service.

As of 5:50 p.m. the wildfire is 37 acres and 0% contained. No structures have been reported as threatened. The cause is unknown.

A hotshot crew and air support are on the scene.

As of 9 p.m. a total of 3 Hotshot crews have been assigned to this fire. One of those crews is currently working the fire and the others will arrive Tuesday. Two additional hand crews and additional helicopters have been assigned to the fire and will also arrive Tuesday.
