Marty’s Sunday Morning Forecast – Hot Afternoon – 8/25/19
Overview: Hotter and drier air will continue to work over the state today eliminating chances for showers and thunderstorms for most areas. Some signs of fall will appear across parts of Colorado at times next week!
Today: Partly cloudy, a little breezy at times and hot with high temperatures in the 90s to lower 100s for the plains; 70s and 80s for the mountains.
Tonight: Mostly clear with low temperatures in the 50s and 60s for the plains; 40s and 50s for the mountains and mountain valleys.
Extended: We expect to be mostly sunny, breezy and cooler on Monday with high temperatures falling back into the 80s to lower 90s for the plains with mainly 70s over the mountains. Patchy low clouds may develop over the plains Monday night into Tuesday morning as the cooler air brings some low level moisture back towards the mountains. Tuesday looks cooler again with just a slight chance for some spotty showers and thunderstorms over and near the mountains, mainly south of the Arkansas River. Warmer again Wednesday and then hot on Thursday with a slightly better chance for isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Another cold front appears more likely to bring rain back to more areas by the end of the week.
