Second bear sighted at University of Colorado Boulder

Another bear was spotted at the University of Colorado Boulder days after wildlife officials captured a bear on the campus.

KUSA-TV reports the bear was sighted near Varsity Lake on the northwest side of campus when students were moving back in Wednesday morning.

Campus police say the bear was already gone when they responded.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife officers caught a 190-pound bear on Aug. 17 in a courtyard on campus.

Officials say the bear was tagged so it had been previously relocated. It was euthanized.

Wildlife officers euthanized another bear on the same day after it had broken into several homes in Four Mile Canyon west of Boulder.

Wildlife spokesman Jason Clay says bears are more active this time of year as they prepare for hibernation.
