Tonight: Scattered showers and thunderstorms possible across the I-25 corridor in El Paso/Pueblo Counties till approximately 10pm with gradual clearing overnight. HWY 50 in eastern Colorado will hold onto the thunderstorm threat quite a bit later, with showers still possible into the early morning hours.
Thursday: Partly cloudy skies to start off the morning with increasing cloud coverage through the day. Significantly cooler temperatures are likely for SE Colorado with high temperatures in the 70’s and 80’s. Thunderstorm development will initiate over the higher elevations by early afternoon and work eastward towards I-25 after 3pm. The biggest thunderstorm threats will be brief heavy rainfall, strong wind gust, and lightning. Clearing up for El Paso/Pueblo Counties after 9pm with overnight weak thunderstorms across the eastern plains.
Extended: Entering into a warming trend as we head into the weekend as temperatures once again will reach about ten degrees above average. Minimal rain chances Saturday and Sunday.
