Strong to severe storms likely east of I-25 once again today – 8/14/19

TODAY: We will start our Wednesday with widespread showers and storms over the eastern plains and southeast Colorado. Clouds will hang on near I-25 through Colorado Springs and the Palmer Divide. Slow clearing will move in over the course of the morning and we will warm to the 80s and 90s again. Mountain cities will be in the 70s. The rest of the day brings scattered storms, some of which will likely become severe east of I-25. Hail and high winds will be the primary concerns, but a plains tornado can’t be ruled out.

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy with drying skies after 9pm. Lows cool to the 50s and 60s again.

EXTENDED: A few more strong storms are possible east of the interstate as we move through Thursday and Friday. Otherwise, look for a nice drying trend to move in for the weekend and early next week. Temps will stay the same and then heat up just a bit through our weekend days.
