Suspect arrested in Fountain shooting, 1 victim in critical condition

Fountain Police arrested 25-year-old Kyle Vanwormer of Fountain for second-degree assault with a deadly weapon, officials said in a statement Sunday. One victim sustained life threatening injuries and is currently in critical condition at a local hospital.

At approximately 6 p.m. Saturday, police were dispatched to the 800 block of South Santa Fe Avenue for a report of a shooting.

The Fountain Police Department Investigations Unit has taken over the scene. The identity of the victim has not been released.

Vanwormer has been charged with the following:

Assault in the Second Degree with a Deadly Weapon Possession of Weapon by Previous Offender Theft (stolen gun)
