08/11/19 Forecast Discussion

Tonight: The line of severe thunderstorms is currently in the eastern plains. I-25 is already starting to see some sunshine poke through, although, El Paso and Pueblo Counties will see a few light lingering rain showers this evening. Gradually becoming mostly clear overnight with temperatures down to 59 in Colorado Springs.

Monday: Mostly sunny skies for the majority of the day helping temperatures warm into the mid-’80s by early afternoon. Temperatures across HWY 50 breaking into the mid-’90s. Isolated showers will be possible across the higher elevations west of I-25, but the vast majority of locations in SE Colorado will stay dry all day.

Extended: Slight warming trend through Wednesday with temperatures approaching 10 degrees above average. A relatively dry air mass sets up for this week, keeping severe thunderstorm chances to a minimum. Expect to see a few isolated showers during the mid-afternoon hours, but the overall coverage of the storms this week will be low.
