F-22 Raptor To Headline Pikes Peak Regional Air Show
The newest and most advanced fighter jet ever built will be the headliner at this year’s Pikes Peak Regional Air Show this fall.
The first F-22 Raptor just rolled off the assembly line in 2017, and it only makes a handful of appearances at air shows every year, according to show organizers.
The show on September 21 and 22 will also feature the USAF “Wings Of Blue” skydiving team, aerobatic performances, and a long list of vintage aircraft dating back to the 1930’s.
The Pikes Peak Regional Air Show is a non-profit, and proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the National Museum of World War 2 Aviation, the Peterson Air and Space Museum, and the 4th ID Museum at Fort Carson.
“We’re not here to make a dollar. We’re here to go ahead and create a community event, something good for the community, good for the airport, and in turn, when people come out and get to see this wonderful air show, the benefits go right back into the community,” said Bill Klaers, President and CEO of the PPRAS.
Tickets can be purchased right now at www.pprairshow.org.
If purchased before July 31, fans can save $8 off the gate price for adult tickets.
Military discounts are also available.
KRDO is the official media sponsor of this year’s air show, and free tickets will be given away on KRDO Newsradio in both the mornings and evenings during the final weeks leading up to the event.
