16-year-old dies in crash near Calhan

A 16-year-old male is dead after being ejected from his car.

Colorado State Patrol says the teen lost control, flipped his car and was ejected just south of the Paint Mines.

The identity of the teen has not been released. He was not wearing a seatbelt and pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash is still under investigation, but neither speed, alcohol nor drugs appear to be factors in the crash.

There was an unrestrained passenger in the vehicle at the time of the crash, who had a complaint of injury and was released on the scene.
