UPDATE: Victim identified in fatal auto vs. pedestrian crash on NB I-25 at Uintah

Update: The victim has been identified as thirty-six year-old Tony Barton of Security, Colorado. Officials say the investigation is ongoing.

Previous story:

There’s been an auto vs. pedestrian fatality on northbound I-25 just south of Fontanero St.

Officers report that a man was hit when crossing the highway with three other people, which caused a second but more minor accident. The victim died on the scene.

The road was closed between Exit 143 Uintah Street and Exit 144 Fontanero Street. It was reopened shortly before midnight.

I-25 NB: Road closed between Exit 143 – Uintah Street and Exit 144 – Fontanero Street. All northbound lanes closed due to crash. Traffic being diverted off at Uinitah. Use caution. Watch for emergency crews.
