Hot and stormy today – 7/16/19

TODAY: Mostly sunny and a bit humid for the first half of our Tuesday. Highs get to the 80s and 90s today, with 100s out east of I-25. We get a little bit of relief from the heat this afternoon when some showers and storms roll in after 1PM today. Locally heavy rain and some lightning will be the biggest threats today.

TONIGHT: Mostly clear to partly cloudy. A few showers could linger over the Eastern Plains. Lows cool back down to the 50s and 60s. It will feel humid in some areas again tonight, especially those that see more rain.

EXTENDED: Rain is in the forecast for Wednesday before we start to dry things out through Thursday and Friday. By then, look for the return of sunshine and some super hot temperatures. In fact, temperatures will be a few degrees shy of records near Pueblo. Rain returns for the weekend and we finally get some relief from the heat on Monday of next week.
