US 36 closed in Westminster due to giant crack
Large cracks formed in the eastbound lanes of US 36 Friday, and since then, the damage has gotten worse.
KUSA reports that the eastbound lanes of US 36 will remain closed near Wadsworth Blvd. through at least Tuesday.
CDOT says the crack was caused by settlement issues. A construction project is now needed to rebuild the section of the roadway due to significant damage.
In the meantime, CDOT is working on a temporary traffic configuration that would shift two eastbound lanes to the westbound side, which would have two lanes open in each direction while construction work is underway.
