07/12/19 Forecast Discussion

Tonight: Scattered showers ending early evening then gradually becoming mostly clear across I-25 and HWY 50 overnight. Temperatures into the high 50’s to low 60’s with light winds at 5-10mph.

Saturday: A nice start to the day with plentiful sunshine for all of central and eastern Colorado. Temperatures for Colorado Springs will warm-up very fast through the morning, reaching into the low 90’s by early afternoon. Increasing cloud coverage by early afternoon with again the chance for a few scattered showers and thunderstorms possible. Overall severity of these storms will be low with the biggest concerns being strong outflow wind gusts and the occasional lightning strike. Also be aware of the flash flooding potential for burn scar areas in the Sangre De Cristo mountain range.

Extended: The consistent diurnal cycle of afternoon thunderstorms will continue late weekend and into the start of next week. Finally, starting to settle down by Wednesday.
