26-year-old Colorado Springs man dies in motorcycle crash

A man is dead following a single vehicle motorcycle crash near the intersection of South Circle Drive and Verde Drive on June 24.

Officers were called to the scene just after 10 p.m., and upon arrival, they determined that a Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling southbound on Circle Drive and lost control causing the motorcycle to leave the roadway and the driver, 26-year-old Christian Ward, to be ejected.

Ward was transported to the hospital for his serious injuries.

On June 28, Ward died as a result of the injuries he suffered in the crash.

This is the 21st traffic fatality in Colorado Springs this year. At this time last year, there were 23 traffic fatalities.

The investigation into the crash is continuing.
