Bobby Brown talks about longtime friend and ‘Dog the Bounty Hunter’ star Beth Chapman
Before there was the famous bounty hunting television show, Bobby Brown met Beth Chapman back in 1989 when she was Beth Smith and worked as a bail bondsman in Denver.
Brown says a friend introduced them and since then things just clicked. “We have been very close ever since,” Brown said at his office in Colorado Springs.
Beth and Brown worked together for nearly two decades before she married Duane “Dog” Chapman.
Both starred in the A&E show, “Dog the Bounty Hunter”. Brown was featured in episodes as they caught fugitives in both Hawaii and Colorado.
Beth passed away Wednesday morning in Hawaii from her battle with cancer. Chapman says his wife was surrounded by family. Beth was a Colorado native, born in Denver.
Brown learned about her death shortly after she passed. He says even though he knew she didn’t have long to live, he was still shocked. “It’s hard for me to talk about it right now but you cannot prepare for when it really happens.”
He tells us Beth was an incredibly hard worker with a heart of gold. She was tough and strong just like she was portrayed in the show. What he will miss most is her compassion and love for friends and family.
“Her life was built on faith and family first and that’s the way she left this world.”
When she was diagnosed with cancer back in 2017 Brown says she didn’t let it slow her down.
“She didn’t complain and it’s not like you would see her sitting around crying. She was strictly about family.”
A longtime friend that he will never forget.
