Juvenile from Colorado Springs escapes youth services center

A 17-year-old with ties to a burglary spree last year in Colorado Springs has escaped from the Lookout Mountain Youth Services Center in Golden, according to police.

Quinn Scaggs removed the window from his room, jumped out and then used bed sheets that he had tied together to escape over the perimeter fence, Golden Police Department said on Tuesday. The escape happened shortly after midnight.

Scaggs is described as 6’2″ and 160 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes. He has a tattoo on his face that reads “Loyalty.” According to GPD, he is considered a “violent offender.”

Last April, Scaggs was wanted in connection with a string of burglaries in northeast Colorado Springs. Police said at the time he also had felony warrants for his arrest, but he was also reported as a missing child.

Lookout Mountain is a secured treatment program for male juvenile offenders.
