Today: Plenty of sunshine during the morning, helping to warm up into the low 80’s before noon. Increased cloud coverage by early afternoon along with scattered rain showers will cap high temperatures at 83 degrees for Colorado Springs. It’s likely that Pueblo, La Junta, Lamar and all of SE Colorado will be significantly warmer today. High 80’s to mid 90’s possible. The severity of the rain showers will be quite low, the biggest concerns being the occasional lightning strike and gusty outflow winds. No hail threat today.

Tonight: Rain chances diminish after 8pm, turning mostly clear overnight with light northerly winds at 5-10mph. Low temperatures to 52 degrees.

Extended: This trend of morning sunshine with the chance of afternoon rain showers will continue through late week. Temperatures staying slightly above average for Colorado Springs, in the mid to high 80’s.
