Severe storms possible for Palmer Divide today – 6/21/19

TODAY: By lunchtime, clouds will start to build through the Pikes Peak Region. Storms pop up on the Palmer Divide after 2PM and lift north and east through Colorado. Some north of Colorado Springs near Monument and east toward Calhan will produce some large hail and strong winds through the evening commute. One or two strong storms could sneak into the Colorado Springs area, but most here should stay below severe limits. Highs will be in the 70s around the Pikes Peak Region with 80s and 90s south and east.

TONIGHT: Clear to partly cloudy with lows in the 40s. Some of our mountain cities cool to the 30s tonight.

EXTENDED: Widely scattered storms are possible for Southern Colorado on Saturday afternoon. There is a chance that some could be strong to severe. Highs will be cooler on Saturday and should only warm to the 60s and 70s. Less storms are expected Sunday, but highs remain cool. The dry air and warmth return for Monday and will last into next week.
