Shooting in Pueblo West leaves one dead

Monday evening, Pueblo County deputies responded to a shooting in the 400 block of West Mangrum Drive.

According to initial reports, a father was shot several times by his son with a handgun.

The son and his mother did not leave the scene, but waited for deputies to arrive and told them where to find the gun.

When deputies go to the home in the upscale neighborhood, they found a man had been shot.

Medical personnel arrived a short time later and pronounced the victim deceased.

According to a PCSO spokesperson, a suspect was quickly apprehended and taken into custody, but it’s unclear if that person is facing any criminal charges.

The identities of the suspect and victim are not being released.
