Man injures Colorado Springs police officer during incident

An officer and suspect were taken to the hospital late Monday night after police responded to an incident north of the Broadmoor World Arena.

Officers were called to the area after they received reports of a man who was bleeding, not clothed and under the influence.

The man, who was later identified as Marcel Tiller, became aggressive towards the officers and struck the officer in the face, causing injury.

Tiller and the officer were taken to the hospital and were later released for their injuries.

Tiller was booked into the El Paso County Jail for an outstanding warrant and multiple charges including second-degree assault on a peace officer.
