Severe thunderstorms in Eastern Colorado

UPDATE:

Severe thunderstorms now tracking east through Lincoln and Kit Carson Counties. These storms are producing Nickel size hail, strong wind gusts, lightning, and heavy rain. Severe thunderstorm warning associated with these storms is in effect till 8:30pm.

Earlier:

A strong thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado is located in Southern Elbert County moving Southeast at 30mph. There is radar indicated rotation with this storm, ping pong ball size hail, 60mph wind gusts, and heavy rain. Ramah, Simla, and Matheson will be the locations directly affected. These storms will stay in mostly rural areas and continue to move east through the remainder of the evening. We’ll have updates as necessary.
