06/06/19 Forecast Discussion

Tonight: Isolated rain showers possible mostly staying over the mountains, tapering off by early evening. The Spring Burn Scar in Costilla and Huerfano Counties is currently receiving rainfall and that prompted a Flood Advisory in the area, active till 6:45pm. Mostly clear skies overnight in Colorado Springs with temperatures to 52.

Friday: Morning sunshine with temperatures warming up very quickly, into the low 80’​​​​​​s by early afternoon. Increasing cloud coverage through the day with scattered thunderstorms developing after 2pm across the I-25 corridor. A few of the storms will be severe with the potential for hail, strong winds, lightning, and heavy downpours. The severe weather will move east over the course of the afternoon, intensifying for a round of evening thunderstorms from Burlington to Springfield.

Extended: Saturday warming up with mostly clear skies and minimal rain chances. Sunday will be a cooler day with temperatures in the low 70’s and scattered afternoon thunderstorms.
