Thunderstorms spring up in southern Colorado; hail, high winds possible

A severe thunderstorm in northern El Paso County was spotted moving northeast Monday afternoon, and a thunderstorm warning was issued for the area.

The severe thunderstorm warning for northern El Paso County is expired at 2:30 p.m.

At 4 p.m., a tornado warning was issued for Baca County, including Springfield and Edler. That warning is in place until 4:30 p.m.

This storm is capable of producing quarter size hail and wind gusts to 60mph. Hail damage to vehicles is possible. Black Forest, Peyton, and Eastonville will be impacted.

Pea-sized hail has already been reported in northern Colorado Springs.
