Colorado Springs little league challenger division plays under the lights

They’re strong, they’re talents and their ready to play ball! The kids at challenger little league get together from the end of April until the end of June to have fun playing baseball. The league is celebrating its tenth anniversary and during that time they have helped kids from all over the area, who are battling disabilities, to enjoy playing on a baseball field, “When I see their smiles, I can’t help but grin too. They touch my heart and make me laugh. I go home with such good memories. I actually think about them the whole rest of the week, with their smiling faces,” says Stephanie Doris, a volunteer coach.

Like any good league, we’ve got some great personalities, like Nathan head, the best catcher in the world, “I am told you are the best catcher in the world. Yes,” answers Nathan

The players range from ages four to 22 and it’s meant so much to the players and their families,
“It just has given us an outlet to be a part of the community and see that we’re not alone. There’s other families needing a community just like us,” says Lauren Thrower, “It is such… Any child, you love your child. But a kiddo with special needs, there’s just something about them. Your heart spurts a little more when they see other people with the same disability or what not,” says Adriana Chaney.
