Marty’s Saturday Morning Forecast – Scattered Storms Expected – 6/2/19
Today: Partly cloudy, breezy and warm with high temperatures in the 70s and 80s for the plains, mainly 60s for the mountains. Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop again at about a 20% to 30% coverage this afternoon. Severe weather appears a little more likely today with large hail and damaging thunderstorm wind gusts the primary threats. Any stronger cells could produce brief downpours, frequent lightning, gusty wind and small hail as well, but again, not everyone should expect rain today.
Tonight: Evening thunderstorms should move east and then end with a partly cloudy sky expected for much of the night but some pockets of low cloud cover may develop again over parts of eastern Colorado by morning. Expect the air to cool into the 40s and 50s for most areas once again.
Extended: We’re going to stay warm for a while with isolated to scattered thunderstorms expected most afternoons. Wednesday and Thursday will probably be the coolest days this week but high temperatures are still expected to reach the 70s to lower 80s across the plains. Thunderstorms will tend to be more numerous on the cooler days this week, and it is also likely that these days are most likely to bring some severe weather to the area. Friday and Saturday look to be very warm with high temperatures possibly reaching 80s to lower 90s across the plains, mainly 70s for the mountains.
