Body found in Arkansas River in Pueblo
According to a tweet posted around 11 A.M. from Pueblo Police Department, a dead body was found in the Arkansas River Saturday morning.
The police department said they received a report of a body found around 8 A.M. by a person who was fishing in the area.
Pueblo Fire Department recovered the body from the water which was located approximately 200 yards east of the walk ridge near Moffat Street.
According to investigators, the victim is a man with no obvious signs of trauma, but detectives believe the body had been in the water for at least two days.
The Pueblo County Coroner’s Office will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death. They will identify the victim once next-of-kin is notified.
