UPDATE: Standoff ends peacefully in Fountain

UPDATE: A standoff with an allegedly armed man has ended peacefully in Founain. Lisa Schneider, the public information officer for Fountain P.D., sent out the following information at 11:26pm: ” Shortly, before 11:00 PM, the suspect exited from the home and was taken into custody. The male has been identified as 48 year old Jason Flores”

PREVIOUS STORY:

Fountain police want people to avoid the area of 500 Windsor Lane while officers work to detain a “wanted party.”

Police are inside a mobile home park and trying to arrest the suspect, who hasn’t been identified yet. ( MAP )

SWAT team officers were called to the area, and a KRDO photographer spotted at least one U.S. Marshal at the scene.

According to Fountain police, shots were fired at officers from inside the home. It’s not clear yet if officers fired back, and a police spokesperson said it’s not yet known how many shots were fired.

Residents in the area have been evacuated for their safety, and no injuries have been reported at this time.
