Wet and heavy snow causes problems for morning commuters

It wasn’t your typical day in late May. Instead of sunshine, people in some areas woke up to a foot of snow.

Alex Polombo said, “Pretty rough, surprised to have the roads like this around may.”

While Willie Sherrill added, “Pretty rough for May 21st.”

And due to thick and heavy slush, people were struggling to stay on the roads. However, it wasn’t just the roads that were an issue. Tree branches were piling up in the streets as they fell due to the heavy snow.

Jason Aminsharifi, a Springs Resident said, “I heard some little clicks initially and just thought it was some of the snow clearing the leaves, but then I heard the cracks and ye it sounded like gunshots, I agree with that.”

Willie Sherrill plows snow in apartment complexes. He says today due to that wet and heavy snow, it was much harder than normal.

“It’s just the snow, it’s heavy snow. Once it melts off, just scrape off the top layer of slush. It’s just heavy snow,” said Sherrill.

But, we live in Colorado and people here are optimistic that the sun will be out very soon.
