05/19/19 Forecast Discussion

Tonight: Staying mostly cloudy overnight with temperatures in the low 40’s and light winds.

Monday: Rainy, cloudy, breezy, and cool. Rain showers likely to start after 5am and remain spotty through the majority of the morning. By late morning, winds will become breezy with gusts to 25mph. Early afternoon steady rain and scattered thunderstorms with the concerns being strong winds, lightning, and small hail. Temperatures staying well below seasonal averages, only in the 50’s. Winter Weather Advisories are in effect after 9pm for Teller and El Paso Counties above 7500 feet and will continue through Tuesday morning. Pikes Peak is under a Winter Storm Warning. The snow accumulation forecast for Monday night into Tuesday is difficult because only a few degrees will make all the difference. 2-4″ for Woodland Park, 1-3″ for Monument, Trace-1″ for Colorado Springs is what I’m going with now. But those numbers could change with updated model runs through the day tomorrow. So stay tuned for updates.

Extended: Finally starting to clear up by Wednesday. Sunshine returns and so do those warmer temperatures. Back into the 60’s and 70’s.
