Insane Clown Posse brings ‘Fury’ to Colorado Springs

Well, that’s not a headline that the Colorado Springs Police Department is too excited about.

The infamous rap group Insane Clown Posse is setting up shop for a show Friday at the Black Sheep, and they’re bringing some friends as part of “The Fury Tour.”

Drake might have his massive following, and Beyonce has her “Bey-hive” but there are few fanbases more known for debauchery and just plain weirdness than the “Juggalos.” And they’ll be descending on Platte Ave. early in the afternoon.

Juggalos dress up in streetwear and clown makeup just like the members of the rap group. They sometimes carry around hatchets, and they have an affinity for a soft drink brand called Faygo based on the group’s Michigan roots. The posse also hosts a big annual concert event called “The Gathering of the Juggalos.”

Oh, and they’re also technically labeled a “gang.”

The FBI calls the fanbase a “loosely-organized hybrid gang,” according to the Washington Post. They’re not really helping themselves, either, considering the number of crimes they’ve been linked to. Ranker.com even put together a list of the “11 most violent Juggalo attacks ever.” You’re not likely to see a roving group of U2 fans grab some hatchets and start lobbing off fingers.

But the rap group itself is prolific and commercially successful. They have 15 studio albums, 17 compilation albums, and nine EPs; and they’ve earned three gold albums and two platinum albums.

The Fury Tour is also bringing Rittz, Mushroomhead, DJ Paul & Quija Macc, Hex Rated, Sonic Vomit, and Syzy-gy to the Black Sheep.
