Indictment: Fort Carson soldier uploaded child porn at father-in-law’s house

The Fort Carson soldier facing felony charges in Texas for allegedly distributing child porn may have uploaded the sexually explicit images during a visit to his father-in-law’s house last August.

Sgt. Andrew Couvion was indicted Thursday in Taylor County, Texas, for possession of child pornography. He was arrested last September following an investigation by police.

According to the indictment obtained by ABC affiliate KTXS, a detective with the Abilene Police Department got a notification from the National Center for Missing and Endangered Children that a “large number of child pornography files” had been uploaded from an IP address that was traced to a home in Tuscola, Texas. Tuscola is about 180 miles west of Dallas.

Investigators went to the house with a search warrant and contacted the people living inside. According to the indictment, “each individual was cooperative and had no evidence of child pornography on their electronic devices.”

The detective determined that the child pornography was uploaded on Aug. 7, 2018 and an email address attached to the uploads belonged to “AndreCouvion,” according to the indictment. Several images specifically included a prepubescent female engaging in oral sex.

Court documents say the owner told the investigator that Andrew Couvion was his son-in-law and that Couvion had visited the house from Aug. 3 to Aug. 10.

Couvion was booked into jail in Taylor County on Oct. 4 and was released the same day on bonds totaling $100,000. We’ve reached out to Fort Carson to learn his status with the Army, and we’re waiting to hear back at this time.
