Stolen SUV crashes into two mobile homes, causes significant damage
Four juveniles were arrested after stealing an SUV and crashing it into a mobile home early Monday morning in Southeast Colorado Springs. Luckily, no one was injured.
It was a loud and eventful morning for the family of Aneke Kemp. Just after 5 am this morning a car crashed outside their home shaking their entire house.
“It was basically like a huge wind hit, it shook the whole house. My daughter basically comes in and goes mommy, mommy, mommy, someone hit your cars,” said Kemp.
The car came speeding around the corner before hitting a speed bump, losing control and crashing into two mobile homes. The entire thing was caught on camera.
Luckily, no one was hurt in this crash, but Aneke said it could have been much worse.
“That’s what we’re both thankful for, my husband and I both are because our daughter’s room is right here and they would have just gone in and so that’s the only thing we are thankful for right now because our cars are replaceable, she’s not,” said Kemp.
Aneke’s first reaction after the crash was to see if the driver was okay but, when she got to the car, no one was there. Police then located four juveniles leaving the area. The suspects were detained and questioned.
Kemp said, “When it’s a child, where are their parents at the end of the day? What are they doing at 5 am? They should be getting ready for school, putting their heads in the books. Getting an education so they can better themselves, not doing this.”
Now, Aneke and her family are left picking up the pieces. But, are thankful to be walking away with their lives.
