Severe storms possible Monday in El Paso County
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for El Paso County stretching out across the plains until 9 p.m. tonight. Primary concerns will be hail and damaging wind gusts in excess of 58 mph, but an isolated tornado or two can’t be ruled out.
Areas most favorable for storms will be east of Interstate 25. Far-eastern Colorado, from Springfield to Burlington, is under the highest threat for seeing severe thunderstorms. Have a plan, stay informed for the latest severe weather updates.
The severe threat dies down after 10 p.m. this evening but the rest of the night will be partly to mostly cloudy with a few lingering showers this evening. Tuesday brings another round of scattered showers/storms for most of the day with highs in the 50s.
