Community gathers to send-off Flick family for National Police Week

Next week Deputy Micah Flick’s name will be added to the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial in Washington D.C. as part of National Police Week.

The community came together Monday night to support and send off the Flick Family.

Shield 616 also presented the family with Micah’s official End of Watch Challenge Coin. The coin was produced by Shield 616 to reflect Micah’s life and legacy.

“It’s all based on stuff about Micah, it’s what he liked, you’ll notice on the coin there’s part of a superman logo and some of his quotes and it’s really personalized to him and that’s which makes the coin that much more special,” Founder and President of Shield 616 Jake Skifstad said.

During Police Week the coins will be on sale to any law enforcement officer in El Paso County, and then will be open to the public following the conclusion of Police Week. Skifstad said all of the proceeds from the coins will go to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Foundation
